Guided Steps Mentors
Mentors play an invaluable role in shaping the lives of students destined for the workplace. Guided Steps mentors are Christian men and women who have extensive experience working in the technology industry, and who desire to pour into the lives of students from Christian and other leading universities in their Junior and Senior years of study, and headed to jobs in technology.
Guided Steps mentors impact college students through a combination of professional mentoring with Christian spiritual guidance and care. As a mentor, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students build confidence in maintaining their Christian identity as they enter their professional working phase of life.
A strong Christian mentor can offer valuable support as students face decisions and challenges, and can help them establish a solid spiritual foundation to rely on and grow upon as they navigate life and their future careers as Christians in the workplace.
And, as an established professional in the Technology Industry, you can provide highly valuable insights and guidance related to navigating your mentee’s entry to their own professional career. Your mentee will look to you for guidance and advice as they complete their degree and begin their career in the Technology Industry.
What to Expect
As Jesus prepared his Apostles, he spent time sharing life together and making teaching moments. As a Guided Steps mentor, you will have similar ability to help your students grow spiritually through a series of mentoring sessions.
These sessions will include time of bible studies, as well as sharing and prayers. And, importantly, they provide an opportunity to develop the personal connection with the student to foster a trusting discipleship.
Time Commitment
You can expect to spend 10-12 hours of your time spread over the program's 4 months.
The program is designed for 6 mentoring sessions during the program period.
Mentoring Cadence
​We recommend scheduling one call every other week, with some flexibility for school and work schedules.
Meeting more than 6 times, or after the current program officially ends is up to your mentee and you.
Mentoring Session
Each session should last 45 to 60 minutes.
The first 5 minutes can be devoted to a life check-in, followed by a 15 minute period of prayer.and then a short Bible study in real time.
Preparations...
Guided Steps provides the biblical topic for each week's study. We ask mentors to spend 5 minutes ahead of the call to prepare for the study.
At your discretion, you may pick alternate topics that you find appropriate for your student's needs.
Program Check-in's
We will have 2 check-in meetings for the program. The first, is a mid-session check-in towards late February 2026.
