For Students
When you join a mentoring program you have access to people with significant technology industry experience to help you prepare for the practical aspects of going into your professional phase of life. Guided Steps students receive mentoring with Biblical foundations to help you, as a Christ-centered professional, address the challenges of world-view in the workplace.

Mentoring is the expression of love that Jesus poured out onto his disciples. At Guided Steps we know that you will face many challenges when you begin your career. Our hearts are set on seeing you maintain and grow your Christian identity to build confidence as you navigate your path through education into employment.
We will match you to a mentor who brings deep experience from the technology industry and is a devoted follower of Christ. Many mentors come from companies like Bible Study Fellowship, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta, and more.

Session Cadence
You and your mentor will arrange to meet online weekly, or every other week.
We want to provide flexibility for your school schedule, but also encourage regularity.
While there are 6 planned sessions, you may discuss additional sessions with your mentor beyond the end of program.
Mentoring Session
Each session will be 45 to 60 minutes long. The first 5 minutes can be devoted to a life check-in, and then followed by a 15 minute period of prayer and short Bible study.
The remaining time can be spent on topics related to your studies, workplace expectations, Spiritual leadership. Be creative!
Closing Well
We highly encourage you and your mentor to end the session in prayer. You can share prayer requests, pray for each other, and pray for the things discussed to take seed in your heart.
Time Commitment
You can expect to spend 12-14 hours of your time spread over the program's 4 months.
The program is designed for 6 mentoring sessions during the program period.
Please honor the time and commitment dates with your mentor. They generously give their time from their schedule to pour into your lives.
Preparing
Each mentoring session will involve a biblical topic, scripture reading, and reflection. The mentor does all the preparation -- you are not expected to prepare in advance for the Bible study.

Your mentor may ask you to prepare some materials related to specific mentoring activities. That will be by arrangement between the two of you.
Sharing / Reflection
We believe that the Bible Study is an important part of the mentoring session. Both you and your mentor will take time to read scripture, meditate and then share how the Spirit has guided you.

About Boundaries...
It is not the intent of the mentoring session or mentor to recommend nor place you in a job. They may be a resource to help you prepare for searching and interviewing.
